Someone drove around the field at FirstEnergy Stadium early Tuesday morning, causing it to be damaged.

The Cleveland Police Department is investigating the incident as a possible break-in, as it appears someone jumped a fence and used a golf cart to damage the field.

The damage includes tire treads that "wind out from the 20-yard line in the shape of a golden spiral, covering almost the entire western side of the field," according to News 5. There were some ruts in the field.

The damage was described as superficial by the team. Cleveland is confident that the situation won't affect the game against the Bucs.

The quick turn around for the repairs raises some issues for the players. Anthony Pagano, whose family owns and operates a sodding company, told News 5 that he was concerned that the field might not be ready in time for the game.

The roots have to adhere to the soil in order for it to stick to the ground. You can take that piece right away if you don't give enough time. It won't stick. It's going to be a problem for the players.
