China is in hot water after being accused of damaging Chinese rocket debris from a Philippine vessel.
According to the Philippine Navy, China blocked its vessels as it tried to retrieve a metallic floating object near the country's Thitu Island, which is part of the disputed Spralty Island region.
The object confirmed to be from China's Long March 5B heavy-lift rocket was forcefully retrieved by a Chinese coast guard ship. The sailors did not fight back because it was not a matter of life and death.
The Philippine Navy handed over the rocket debris after a "friendly consultation" according to China.
The Vice President of the United States was in the country over the weekend, heightening the drama.
Harris didn't single out China when she decried the "intimidation and coercion" that occurs around the disputed Spratly Islands.
The piece of Chinese space junk that landed in disputed waters is not the latest example of a growing problem.
After the piece of the Long March 5B rocket landed in the Philippines, there was another piece that broke apart into 50 pieces.
There is more on China.
