Tiger Woods has claimed the top bonus in the Player Impact Program for the third year in a row, despite only playing nine rounds in the majors this year.

The world's top golfer let the cat out of the bag when he told The Associated Press that he finished second to Tiger Woods in the bonus program. A fifteen million dollar bonus was given to Woods.

The firstPIP bonus was won by Woods and he earned $8 million. He failed to make the cut at the 150th Open Championship. He was injured in a car wreck outside Los Angeles in February.

A record 23 players received at least $2 million inPIP bonuses this season, including three who finished in the top 20 of a modified criteria measurement, which will be used by the tour.

Second place went to McIlroy with $12 million, followed by third place with $9 million, fourth place with $7 million, and fifth place with $5 million. The winner of the Masters was Scottie Scheffler, who was awarded $5.5 million.

According to a memo sent to the tour's members Tuesday, players will get 25% of their bonus in the tournament. Once a player completes three requirements, 75% of the money will be paid.
