According to the vice president and general manager of the company, the release of the college football game will be in the summer of 2020.

"That's the best date for us to bring the game that we believe is going to meet or exceed our player expectations," Holt said. The scale and breadth of what we want in the game needs to be covered. We are trying to create a very realistic college football experience.

On Monday, Matt Brown of Extra Points reported that the release of the college football game was going to be delayed.

The game had not been pushed or delayed according to Holt. They had to start from the beginning because he said there was a lot they wanted to do.

There is more context to the situation.

Quick thoughts

1) I am legitimately surprised by this.

2) I've been writing this basically ever since I first broke news about the game...EA does not want to just do a Madden reskin. They want the CFB game to be completely new IP.

When it was announced that the beloved game would return in 2021, there was a lot of anticipation.

Those who want to play will have to wait. Holt wants to include real players in the game in addition to Dynasty Mode.

Holt said that the road was blocked back in 2011. I said something to the fact that we were passengers, just like everyone else.

The road is still under construction.

The source said that the players will be paid if they play.

Denard Robinson was on the cover of NCAA Football 14. Past cover stars include Tim Tebow, Reggie Bush, Matt Ryan, Charles Woodson, and Larry Fitzgerald.

The next cover star might not be known until later in the century.
