What is your group? Next time you go to a Delta Sky Club, will you be asked that question?
According to a carrier spokesman, priority lanes for access to the Sky Clubs are currently being rolled out.
When it's operating at peak capacity, the prioritized entry lanes will be closed from the regular line. The new priority access lanes can be used by eligible travelers.
These flyers will now have expedited access to the Sky Club as well as priority boarding.
Delta has been forced to separate the Sky Club entry line due to lounge overcrowding. There isn't enough room in the Sky Club to accommodate everyone at the same time.
Delta has the most lounge access of any airline. Anyone with a Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card or The Platinum Card from American Express has access to the Sky Club, along with the carrier's long-haul business class passengers, Sky Club members and top-tier flyers.
The overcrowding issue for its Sky Clubs is worsened by the fact that Delta doesn't yet operate business class-only lounges.
Delta's most valuable customers will be allowed to skip the line when the lines are busy. It makes sense for Delta to offer this service. The airline will upset those who are trying to access the lounge through other means because they are the travelers who give the most revenue.
It's possible that Delta could offer an ancillary buy-up to a more expensive membership that includes entry to the priority lane for travelers who pay for a lounge membership.

The successful trial of priority lanes in Atlanta is what led to the move.
Following a successful operational test in Atlanta, Delta Sky Club will roll out dedicated entry lanes in a phased approach at select airports. These entry lanes are just one of a continual range of enhancements designed to ensure our most frequent fliers and Delta Sky Club guests have a great experience on the ground and in the air.
The first to report about the trial in Atlanta was TPG, which seems to have been a success.
Atlanta, Boston, Detroit, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, St. Paul, New York, Salt Lake City and Seattle are likely to be included in the new priority lanes.
Delta is making changes to its access policies in order to combat overcrowding.
The Sky Club can't be entered more than three hours before the scheduled departure time. The three-hour rule does not apply to connections.
Delta's lounges have the best experience of any US airline club once inside.
Los Angeles, New York and Chicago are just a few of the new locations built by the airline. The food and beverage offerings in both the American Airlines Admirals and the United Airlines Club are more expensive than those in the food and beverage section of a restaurant.
