One of those people who will listen to a song over and over and over again is the one I discovered. When I am exercising, when I am running, when I am putting things in my online shopping basket, the song will be playing. For a few days, it's inescapable in my life, until someone takes it's place.

Babies has been a recent pick. At one point the narrator hides in a cupboard to watch his girlfriend's sister have sex with a guy called David. Researchers in the psychology department of the University of Toronto would have a field day with me since I have played it to death recently.

People were asked about their favourite songs and the lyrics were analysed by psychologists. The participants were asked a number of questions. More than 7,000 songs were analyzed and it was found that people liked the lyrics that related to their attachment style.

Feeling pretty secure? You might listen to All of Me by John Legend.

John Bowlby has a theory about attachment styles. Attachments formed in our early years of childhood impact other relationships in our lives, as well as suggesting that people have predictable patterns when it comes to managing intimacy and relationships.

Those with secure attachment styles are comfortable getting close to others and don't experience doubts outside what is normal, while those on the "anxious" end of the spectrum tend to be more uncertain. Theavoidant style suggests a nervousness around intimate relationships.

Avoidants apparently choose songs like TLC’s No Scrubs.

According to the University of Toronto study, those who displayed secure attachment styles preferred songs such as All of Me by John Legend and Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran.

The subjects went for songs like Someone Like You and No Scrubs, while avoiding songs like Irreplaceable by Bey. The lead author of the study warned those who contributed that they were vulnerable to a negative feedback loop and their emotions would snowball. Music can be used as an exacerbator of that. The people who have been listening to Nobody by Mitski at least weekly for the last four years are the ones who have been punished.

‘I have played Babies by Pulp to death lately.’

Every Bottle (Is My Boyfriend) by the Irish musician CMAT is one of my overplayed favourite songs, but a pinch of salt is probably required. Babies and I are worried where. No comment again.

It is best to hold off on telling your next match that you are a fan of Don't You Want Me? I wish you good luck on your second date.
