According to a recording of a meeting Musk had with employees on Monday, he told them that the company would add video and voice calling between accounts and that they would be protected from outsiders.
"We want to enable users to be able to communicate without being concerned about their privacy, or without being concerned about a data breach at Twitter causing all of their DMs to hit the web, or think that maybe someone atTwitter could be spies on their DMs," Musk said. It has happened a few times before.
Musk is correct in saying that people will be exposed before. A number of messages between businesses and their customers had been accessible by outsiders for over a year, according to a warning issued by the social media company.
