Why Pulisic should start on the bench vs. England (1:29)

For the USA's match against England, Luis Miguel Echegaray says he would go for the younger player, rather than the older one. There is a time and a place for it.

The United States men's national team played in Al Rayyan. It was there at the beginning. Early in the second half, it was there. It was there by the time it was over. The place was there with 15 minutes to go. The place was there.

The U.S. wanted to do against Wales. The work they had done to break down the Welsh block, the effort they had put into containing the Wales attack, all of it had set things up perfectly. A good performance against Iran will send you into the knockout round if you get through the England game.

It was all right for the U.S.

The news and features of the World Cup in 2022.

USA 1, Wales 1 is not a Disaster. There was no tragic event. The most important thing in a World Cup is that we didn't lose. When Mike Tyson was asked about the plan Evander Holyfield might have for him in their upcoming boxing match, the old Mike Tyson line came to mind.

Tyson said that everyone had a plan until they got punched in the mouth.

Take the U.S. punched into account.

Those of the most optimistic U.S. fans took a hit Monday. It will take four points to get out of Group B and the U.S. will have to beat Iran in order to make it out.

Can that be done? If the U.S. can play like they did in the first half against the Welsh. The Americans showed their presence for nearly an hour. On the left side, there were two people on fire. Tyler Adams looked around. They moved up and down on the right flank. Josh headed off the post.

The U.S. goal was perfect. One of the few U.S. trips through the middle of the field has been taken by Christian Pulisic. The Lille man turned to his left and took off on a celebratory slide after the ball was rolled through to Weah. It looked like the U.S. was in control. Wales was listed.

Then came the stumbling. At the half-time break, Berhalter urged the U.S. to continue. To push onward. Wales was prepared for the inevitable flailing.

Wales was going to change their tactics and throw caution to the wind. It was going to be part of it.

It was, that's right. They dealt with it well for the majority of the time.

The U.S. fell too far back behind the ball after the introduction of Kieffer Moore. When Bale got on the ball in the penalty area with 10 minutes to go, Wales saw a small opening and barged through it.

Before the game, Berhalter talked about the importance of every play. The outcome of the game can be determined by every play.

The one that did definitely did. There was a meme on the internet that showed Matt Turner sipping tea in his penalty area, but he dove to his left. The ball rippled the net, Turner slapped his hands on the ground in frustration and, near the halfway line, Weah and Pulisic stared blankly back at theWelsh fans dancing behind the goal.

The U.S. team is not old. Everyone on the team has been in a World Cup game. This team has never been in a situation like this before.

Adams said that pressure is a privilege. The pressure increases after Monday. The U.S. team had a plan to turn their talent into a surprise. The first half against Wales was exactly what they wanted, and everything was going to be fine.

They had a punch in their mouth. The only thing that matters is how they respond.
