The Hollywood Reporter says that a new director has been found for the movie. Demange previously worked on Jordan Peele's Monkeypaw productions.
Michael Starrbury, who was nominated for an award for his work on When They See Us, is joining the new team for Blade and will be working on the script for the film. Demange and Starrbury have been enlisted to lean into a darker tone for the planned franchise, which will bring even more supernatural and monster madness into the MCU along the lines of Moon Knight and Werewolf by Night. Is it possible that Oscar and Mahershala Ali would work together? Is it possible to throw in a little bit of the same person as well?
The film parted ways with its original director just two months before it was supposed to start shooting. It is possible that production can get back on track for its Atlanta, Georgia shoot in 2023, so that it can be in time for Blade to be released in September.
