After firing nearly two-thirds of his workforce in three weeks, Musk is back at work.

According to two people who attended the meeting, Musk told employees that they are encouraged to make referrals and that the company is done with layoffs. On the same day as his comments, a wave of cuts hit the sales department, which has lost almost all of its senior leadership.

The company doesn't currently have any open roles listed on its website. Last week, it was reported that recruiters were reaching out to engineers to join the company.

Before Musk took over, anyone who entered the company would work in a larger company. The exact number of departures under his watch is not known, but there were nearly 7,400 people with access to the internal systems before he laid off half the company. According to people with the matter, the number has since fallen to just over 2,700 people.

Long-tenured engineers, some with more than a decade of experience at the company, as well as a growing list of corporate leaders, have left the company in large numbers. The CEO, CFO, and chief legal officer were all ousted on the first day. Four of the top advertising and content partnership leaders are no longer with the company. Multiple "critical" teams were completely gutted by the layoffs.
