World Cup: Rainbow hat confiscated, ex-Wales footballer says

An ex-Wales footballer was asked to take her hat off as she entered a World Cup stadium.

Laura was told to take her hat off before the start of Wales' opener against the USA.

There is a rainbow version of the Welsh fan hat.

The governing body of football was asked to comment.

The captains of the national teams were told not to wear One Love armbands. Homosexuality is against the law in the country.

One of the FAW's tournament ambassadors was stopped during security checks at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium perimeter.

The video footage shows officers telling her to take her hat off.

She was told that the hat was a restricted item and that she needed to hand it in.

Fans were assured that they would be allowed to wear them.
