The New York Yankees requested medical information on Jacob deGrom.

The Yankees are just one of five teams that have requested deGrom's medical information.

Two-time Cy Young Award winner Jacob deGrom, who spent the first nine seasons of his MLB career with the New York Mets, will be one of the top players in free agency and arguably the top pitcher.

His concerns are not without his attention. The injuries limited him to just 26 starts over the past two seasons, making his medical information more important than ever.

He's been productive when he's been well. He was 5-5 with a 3.08 earned run average, 0.74 WHIP, and 102 strikeouts in 62.1innings, and was on the verge of a legendary season in 2021.

His age and injury history may limit his market a bit, but players with his ability to completely dominate don't hit free agency often. The market will be lively.

The Yankees will focus on re-signing defending American League Most Valuable Player, as well as improving their pitching staff, according to the report.

The potential for a lot of turnover in New York's pitching staff this winter is caused by the fact that many former Yankees are free agents.

Adding an ace like deGrom would make it less likely that someone would lose their arms.
