Three months after the original game was released on the PS, the spinoff game, called Spider-Man: Miles Morales, was released on Windows PCs.
The game was created by Insomniac Games, which is best known for the Ratchet & Clank franchise. This port is being done by a studio in the Netherlands that was acquired by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The studio supports other studios' productions in many ways.
The original game can be found in the PC port. There are a number of enhancements, including support for Nvidia's DLSS 2 andDLSS 3, as well as the FSR 2.1. Ultra-wide and multi-monitor support is the same as it was in the previous game.
As for input options, you can, of course, play with a keyboard and mouse. But you can also play with the PlayStation 5's DualSense controller via a USB-C connection to gain access to the DualSense-specific features for which the game was designed, such as haptics and adaptive triggers. If you want to come up with your own solution and mappings, the game works with the Steam Input system. A post on the PlayStation Blog goes into considerable detail with quotes from developers on defining the mouse-and-keyboard inputs for a game that was originally designed to be played on a controller.I liked Spider-Man: Miles Morales more than Insomniac's first Spider-Man game. It felt like a tighter experience compared to the first game, with its shorter run time and more focused story. It was nice to see someone else wear the Spider-Man suit, since we've seen so many versions.
AdvertisementThe sequel to the first Spider-Man game is being worked on by Insomniac. According to the first marketing materials, you will play as both Peter and Miles in the game. Insomniac is working on a game based on the comic book character.
Both of those have not been announced for PC just yet, but a PC release is likely after the PS4 versions are released.
Today, Miles Morales is available on both steam and the games store at a discounted price.
