Ye showed up at the ComplexCon festival in Long Beach, California, on Sunday night.
Ye was seen moving through a crowd of people that had gathered around him at the two-day event. Teena Thach, one of the attendees, said his arrival seemed to be a total surprise. She said that Ye was in the crowd for 30 minutes.
She said that there were so many people around him that people began pushing. There was a huge crowd around the time he was trying to leave. He ended up going to the exit.
Scheduled appearances from celebrities, including Michael B. Jordan, Pusha T and Kodak Black, were included in the festival's schedule.
A request for comment was not returned. The festival is put on by Complex, which is owned by Huffington Post.
After losing most of his professional partnerships, Ye made a surprise appearance. His talent agency stopped working with him.
The rapper made a number of antisemitic comments on social media in early October. He drew a lot of backlash after he wore a shirt with a hate slogan.
CNN and NBC News reported that Ye had praised Hitler and the Nazis in business meetings in the past. Ye reached settlements with two people who made the allegations.
He said at the beginning of the month that he was not talking to anyone for a month.
