An ex-Facebook manager says she got Meta's layoff email at 5.35 a.m. while on maternity leave

She said she was laid off while on maternity leave.

One of the employees affected by the mass layoffs at Meta was a communications manager at Facebook.

After several of her coworkers sent her text messages saying they were laid off, she received Meta's email at 5.35 a.m.

The 11,000 employees impacted by the Meta layoffs were told this morning. I'm currently on maternity leave.

She worked for Meta's community products groups which included Facebook groups.

Insider published a list of top professionals in the public relations industry.

She said she was going to be on maternity leave until February.

"For those who know me, working at Facebook (now Meta) has been my dream since I moved from London to the Bay Area nine years ago," she said.

Meta announced it would be cutting more than 11,000 employees.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in a post that he got this wrong. He sees layoffs as a last resort, but expects cost-cutting changes to continue.

One of the hundreds of former employees who were laid off by Meta took toLinkedIn to tell their stories.

Several Meta software engineers were laid off just a few days after moving to Canada, according to Insider.

According to a recent Insider report, other Meta employees wrote departure messages with a photo of their ID cards after they received a layoff email.
