According to a Sunday release from the New Mexico State police, Peake shot and killed one of the New Mexico students after theylured him to the University of New Mexico.

The New Mexico State-New Mexico rivalry game was postponed on Saturday after Peake was shot by a New Mexico student. According to the police, Peake used a gun he owned to shoot and kill the man.

The man died on the scene.

The University of New Mexico said in a statement that Peake was in stable condition.

The three other attackers, a male and two females, all fled after the shooting.

According to a New Mexico State police statement, agents later learned that the 21-year-old victim was lured to the UNM campus by a 17-year-old female and two of the UNM students.

The female has been charged with battery and conspiracy.

Peake was taken to a hospital.

Peake was called a victim by the New Mexico State police.

A statement by New Mexico State called the incident "heartbreaking" and said men's basketball staffers had stayed in Albuquerque as the program continues to work through the tragic incident. The University of New Mexico will offer counseling to all students.
