With time running down in the Eagles 17-16 win over the Colts on Sunday, Philadelphia coach Nick Sirianni ripped off his visor and yelled into the crowd.
When he hugged Roseman at the locker room entrance, he wiped tears from his eyes as he addressed the team.
He told the crowd that the Colts' recent firing of Frank Reich was the root of the problem.
I am emotional because I adore Frank Reich. "I really do, I worked for Reich in Indianapolis for two years." He's one of the best football coaches. I was hoping that he and I could coach against each other. He is a big mentor.
You don't want to know what I think if he's here or not, but you can imagine what I think. It was great to come here and get the win. The victory. We are leaving Indianapolis with a victory.
Reich was let go by the Colts in November after a poor start to the season. Jeff Saturday is now 2-0 as interim head coach. The Eagles won their ninth game of the season.
When Reich was on the staff as quarterbacks coach and then offensive coordinators, Sirianni was an assistant coach on the team. Reich was hired as the Colts head-coaching gig.
"I think this was for Frank, I think," said former Colts and Eagles receiver I was sad to see him go. I was sad today. I'm happy we came out with that.
Reddick spoke to the team after the game and said that he was very emotional.
Reddick said he was happy that they were able to come together and win for him. I know how important it is to get a W over a team that you either played for or coached for, as a guy who played on different teams.
While he found his footing as the organization's lead man, Sirianni had a rough start as the Eagles head coach, with a 0-7 record. The Eagles have the best record in the NFL this year at 9-1.
His father is one of the people he credits with being his primary mentor.
The game ball was presented to him by the players in the locker room.
"He came here and changed the culture for us, and we're out here winning like crazy," he said. He has a good chemistry with us. I have a lot of admiration for him. I hope he hears it because I don't know if he knows that.
