Musk criticized the social networking site for failing to adhere to free speech principles months before he took control of the company.

Musk, who has previously referred to himself as a "free speech absolutist", is making changes to the site on a fleeting basis.

Since Musk took over, there has been a lot of confusion on the micro-blogging site. Accounts have been banned and employees have been fired. In typical Musk fashion, some accounts that were banned or suspended have been restored.

The accounts that have been restored are listed here.

Donald Trump

Following the insurrection at the Capitol, the former president's account was permanently suspended by the social media platform.

The 75,000,000 great American patriots who voted for me, America first, and Make America Great Again, will have a giant voice long into the future, as a result of my suspension. They will not be treated unfairly.

A senior administration official said that Trump went "ballistic" after the ban and was trying to figure out what he would do. Truth Social was launched in February.

Musk made a poll on Friday asking users if they wanted to re-instate Trump. The billionaire owner restored Trump's account after a majority of respondents voted in favor.

The former president created Truth Social, but it's not clear if he will return to the bird app.

Trump told Fox News in April that he wouldn't be using social media. I am going to be staying on TRUTH even though I would like to see Elon buy it because he will make improvements to it and he is a good man.

He said that he wouldn't be going back to the social networking site.

Andrew Tate

Andrew Tate was suspended from the micro-blogging site after violating its terms of service. The suspension was initiated by Tate, who said women should "bare some responsibility" for being raped.

Tate is a leader for a new generation of the "manosphere" and frequently makes comments about women.

His account was restored after five years.

Jordan Peterson

A psychologist from Canada was temporarily suspended from the social media network after violating the site's policy. The actor was referred to by his dead name.

After being suspended, he filmed a lengthy video saying that he would rather die than be deleted from the internet.

The professor seemed to be excited about the return of his account after Musk said that it would be restored.

The Babylon Bee

A right-wing satirical site was banned in March for making an anti-trans comment about Rachel Levine, a trans woman currently serving as US assistant secretary of health.

The CEO of The Babylon Bee made a post saying that they wouldn't compromise the truth just to keep their account.

We're back after being reinstated. Allow that to sink in.

Kathy Griffin

Kathy Griffin's account was suspended and then revived in a matter of weeks.

She impersonated Musk and made fun of him on her account. After much spirited discussion with the females in my life, I have decided that voting blue for their choice is only right. They are sexy females, so vote blue to protect women.

The two men may have embraced Musk's decision, but they didn't want to do it. "Dear Space Karen" is Mastodon's version oftweet, and it's been used by many people on the social network. NoThanks.
