Novak Djokovic celebrates after winning his sixth ATP Finals title
Djokovic equalled Roger Federer's record six ATP Finals titles

Novak Djokovic equaled the record for most titles in a single season with six.

The Serbian defeated his Norwegian opponent in a tennis match.

It was a year in which he missed two majors because of his refusal to take a Covid-19 vaccine.

He is the only one to have won the same title in both the men's and women's finals.

The biggest pay cheque in tennis was given to the man who went through the tournament without a loss.

He said the seven year wait for the title made the triumph even sweeter.

"You have to stay focused throughout the entire match, every single point, the momentum can switch to the other side really quickly," said Novak.

It's even sweeter that I waited seven years.

The 21-time major winner took a break in the first set due to two poor errors by the young man.

After winning the opener, he broke his opponent's serve in the fourth game of the second set to take a 2-0 lead.

The veteran fought back and forced a 36-shot final rally, but he was defeated by a powerful ace by the younger man.

Joe Salisbury won the men's doubles event with an American partner.

The US Open men's doubles champion beat the Croatians.
