The England players will take a knee before the game against Iran.

They decided to keep doing the gesture during the tournament.

It is what we stand for as a team and have done for a long time.

"We feel this is the biggest and we think it's a strong statement that will go around the world for young people to see that inclusivity is very important."

The summer of 2020 saw the return of football after the Covid-19 shut down.

The decision was made to use specific moments throughout the season to take the knee instead of making the gesture at every match.

The OneLove armband promotes diversity and inclusion - and is a symbol aimed at standing up to discrimination

The FA wants to know if captains will be booked if they wear the OneLove Armband in the World Cup.

England and Wales had planned to wear the OneLove armband to promote diversity.

On the eve of the tournament, Fifa announced new partnerships with three UN agencies.

In September, the FA wrote to the world governing body, but didn't hear back. They said they were willing to accept a fine.

They hope to get an answer on Sunday before the game against Iran.
