The 49ers are my favorite team. I was raised in the Bay Area and didn't cheer for the Raiders in the Super Bowl. I didn't want to see the 49ers win a chip so I cheered for the Bucs. I was six at the time.
I don't know if I'm the most loyal. I don't attend all of the games. I don't have a shrine dedicated to either Kyle Jusczcyk or Kyle Shanahan. I don't own a Frank Gore jersey. I will cheer them on for 16 games and then complain to anyone who will listen, even if it is Nick Mullens, Solomon Thomas, or the 2015 offseason.
Is it possible to get to a player's house during a snowstorm so they can play a game at a neutral field? It is not possible to say yes. I draw the line at that location. The course this week is the same for Bills Mafia.
If you have been living under a rock the past few days, you know that West New York has been hit with historic snowfall recently, so much so that upwards of six feet came crashing down in some areas. Singletary is the starting running back for the Bills. The game was moved to Detroit because of the weather. The Bills were not able to get to Detroit. The roads leading to the airport were so blocked off that it was difficult for players to get to the airport.
The starting right tackle for the Bills, Spencer Brown, was able to get out of his driveway thanks to a few Bills fans.
I wouldn't do this. They don't know me. They don't pay attention to me. I don't have a bad relationship with the grown men who represent the city. I wouldn't want to be waist deep in that snow. I lived in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan for two winters. I have seen a lot of snow, ice, and jack-knifed trailers. I don't want to put myself in danger just so one player can play. So what if they lose once? The Bills are the ones. The rest of the season will be competitive. It isn't like the other teams are going to miss the playoffs. There is one game in the grand scheme of things.
I can't help but think "WOW!" when I see a clip of Bills' fans. It must be great to be a part of this team. The city and your fans are behind you. It was a few years ago that former Bills receiver Jordan Matthews said there was nothing to do in Buffalo. I can't help but think that Matthews didn't appreciate what he had because Bills' fans have done so much for that team You are surrounded by people who care about seeing you succeed. It is on Matthews.
The Bills Mafia, keep doing you. You're amazing.
