Elon Musk says he will reinstate Twitter account of former President Donald Trump after online poll

The account of the former President of the United States will be restored on Saturday.

Musk asked his followers to vote on whether or not to restore Trump's account on the platform. Twenty four hours was the length of the poll.

The people have spoken. Trump will be allowed to return to work. They call it vox populi. The voice of the people is the voice of God.

After the January 6, 2021, insurrection at the U.S. Capitol where his supporters rioted and disrupted lawmakers who were formally counting Electoral College votes, the former President's account was suspended by the social media platform.

The decision was made due to the risk of further insurgencies.

Even if Musk reversed the ban, Trump would not return to social media.

Trump applauded the new ownership of the social networking site. In October, Trump wrote on his Truth Social account that he was happy that the social network would no longer be run by people who hated the country. The Trump Media & Technology Group runs a social media platform.

Musk wrote on the platform that there would be no major content decisions or account reinstatements before the council convenes.

Musk hasn't said if he has formed a council or not.
