TCU keeps CFP hopes alive with game-winning FG (0:32)

The field goal was kicked in the last seconds of the game. 0:33

The final seconds of the game were winding down and the players had to leave the field. The last one to get in was KickerGriffin Kell.

"That looked like chaos, but we practice it every Thursday exactly like that," he said.

The Frogs did a great job of staying perfect in what was not a practice situation.

Kell kicked a 40-yard field goal as time expired to give the Frogs a 29-28 victory over the Bears.

Emari Demercado scored on a 3-yard touchdown run to cap a 90-yard drive, but he was unable to convert the two-point try.

After forcing a three-and-out and using all three of its timeouts, the Frogs were able to get the ball back at their 31. Max Duggan converted one third down with a 12-yard run on a quarterback draw after completing his first two passes.

The offensive and special teams units ran by each other as Demercado went down in the center of the field with about 16 seconds to go in the game. Kell's kick went through as time expired after the ball was snapped.

All of the day one concepts were thrown at us during the last drive. We were throwing things that we practice and we can do with our eyes closed. It was just going out there and being confident that it was going to happen.

The Frogs haven't been perfect this deep in a season since 2010, when they went 13-0 and won the Rose Bowl.

The Frogs lost in their first game at the stadium after it opened. They went on to win the Big 12 title after that loss. The first two teams were left out of the playoff.

Last year's Big 12 champion took a 28-20 lead early in the fourth quarter after a pair of true freshmen scored their first career touchdown.

Dave Aranda said that the locker room was difficult. I told them that I would like to take the pain away.

He ran for a score and passed for 327 yards and a touchdown to lead the Frogs. Kendre Miller had a rushing touchdown in his 12th game in a row, a 2-yarder early in the second quarter that tied it at 14 before he got hurt.

One play after the two had connected for 20 yards, Duggan hit a wide-open Henderson for a 26 yard touchdown that gave the Frogs a lead they would not relinquish. After Kell missed the PAT, it was 20-14.

Craig "Sqwirl" Williams ran for 112 yards, while Blake Shapen passed for 269 yards and a touchdown for the Bears. Baldwin had a 74-yard reception on third-and-11 that set up Reese's touchdown.

Williams said that it really hurt to end that way.

The way forward.

The Frogs overcame deficits in the second half against Oklahoma State and Kansas State. After several players dealt with flu-like symptoms over the course of the week, they never lost their focus and finished the game without their two leading players.

The Bears piled up over 500 total yards and over 200 on the ground. They had 56 yards rushing on their first drive, which was double the amount Texas had for the entire game. They had a chance to take the halftime lead when Shapen's pass was picked off by Bud Clark.

There is a poll.

The AP poll has the Horned Frogs in the top four, and they should be in the top four on Tuesday.

Up next.

Next Saturday, the Frogs play Iowa State at home.

There is a game on Friday.
