CBS News is pausing its activity on the social media site as it continues to monitor the platform in light of the uncertainty surrounding it.
The last message was posted to the CBS News account at 3:38pm on Saturday. A report on the appointment of a special counsel to oversee the investigations into former President Donald Trump was re-posted.
At 3:30 p.m., CBS Mornings posted a report about the topic of social media.
WCBS-TV in New York and KCBS-TV in Los Angeles are both owned and operated by CBS. At KPIX-TV in San Francisco, the last message on the station's account was sent to followers.
CBS stations in Denver, Sacramento, Chicago, Baltimore, Boston, Detroit, Minneapolis, Pittsburgh, and Dallas all stopped posting to their accounts within an hour of each other on Friday.
CBS News suspended its activity on the site after Musk gave blue check verification to anyone willing to pay for the service which immediately spawned fake but seemingly-verified accounts for major national companies and individuals.
ABC News, NBC News, CNN, MSNBC, and Fox News all had their own accounts on the social networking site.
