As Musk surveys the crowd ahead of one of his most anticipated decisions, a poll asking users if he should bring Trump back hit 11 million votes, with a slim majority in favor of the idea.

At 10 a.m., More than 11 million people voted in Musk's poll to bring Trump back.

It's not clear if Musk will use the outcome to determine if Trump's account will be restored, but he did reply to the poll saying, "the voice of the people is the voice of God."

The poll closes at 7 p.m., less than 10 hours after it began. The time is eastern.

Trump's account was banned shortly after his supporters attacked the Capitol because of the risk of more violence. Musk said in May that he would lift Trump's ban once he took control of the company, but he has yet to do so. The platform's content moderation policies have been in a state of change since Musk took over, to the displeasure of many companies that are now pulling back on advertising on the platform. Despite saying earlier this month that she was permanently banned for pretending to be him, Musk lifted the suspensions for several accounts on Friday. When he took over, Musk claimed that existing content moderation policies were still in place, but he seemed to set new standards, saying that hate speech will be allowed, but it will be deleted. Musk promised to allow all speech permissible by law on the platform.
