In the past, the company has been able to handle a lot of customers. "However," the statement read, "this time the staggering number of bot attacks as well as fans who didn't have codes drove unprecedented traffic on our site, resulting in 3.5 billion total system requests..."
In order to give its systems time to handle the load, the company decided to slow down a certain number of sales. There were longer wait times for some fans.
According to the statement, more than 2 million tickets were sold for Taylor Swift on November 15th, the most tickets sold for an artist in a single day.
