Luka Doncic beat Magic Johnson to become the 50th triple-double player.
He became the 10th player in NBA history to record 50 career triple-doubles on Friday.
Doncic did it in his 278th game, one less than Johnson. Oscar Robertson got 50 triple-doubles.
"He's going to rewrite the record book," said Kidd, who had 50 triple-doubles in his playing days. It's pretty cool. The fact that Oscar is second fastest to 50 shows you how special he is.
It was the 25th time that Doncic has achieved a triple-double. It's fifth in NBA history, behind only Robertson, Russell, and James Harden.
He has four 30-point triple-doubles in 14 games this season. The rest of the NBA has combined for one.
Doncic didn't have much to say about joining exclusive historical statistical company, something that he's done on a routine basis during his five year NBA career.
Doncic said it was amazing. I always have the same answer. It is enjoyable. I'm very happy that I'm here and doing this.
