A one-year, $6.1 million contract has been agreed to by the San Francisco Giants and outfielder Mike Yastrzemski.

He just finished his fourth MLB season with the Giants.

Prior to the 2022 campaign, Yastrzemski agreed to a $3.8 million deal. He can be a free agent before the season starts.

After spending most of his time in right, the outfielder split his time between right and center last year. The Dodgers defeated the Giants in the National League Division Series to advance to the World Series. He had 25 home runs that year.

During the shortened 2020 season, Yastrzemski hit.300 with 10 home runs and 35 runs scored in 54 games to finish eighth in the NL Most Valuable Player vote.

He'll return for his fifth season in the Bay Area as the Giants look to rebound from an 81-81 season that saw them finish six games out of the final wild-card spot.
