Musk said in May that he would restore Trump's account after buying the company.

Musk said on Friday that a decision about Trump's account has not yet been made, even as accounts belonging to a controversial academic and a comedian were restored.

It is not clear how the decisions are being made. On Friday, Musk said he wouldn't be reinstating Alex Jones.

Even if his account is restored, Trump won't return to the social networking site because he prefers his own platform.
