SwiftKey has a new update every August 11th. There will be some changes to look forward to, but it is not clear if or when it will be updated. Vishnu Nath, Microsoft's VP and GM of the Office product group, encouraged fans to keep an eye on the team. Microsoft will invest a lot in the keyboard, according to the company's chief technology officer.
SwiftKey was launched on the iPad with the release of iOS 8 in which third-party keyboards could be installed. Microsoft bought SwiftKey in 2016 The app is still available on mobile devices.
