The Washington Commanders disciplined a few players for violating a league rule about drinking on a plane, but the league won't take any further action.

The league sent a memo to all teams reminding them of the rule and that any violations would result in significant discipline. The TennesseeTitans won over the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night, but that didn't stop their offensive coach from getting arrested for drunk driving.

Washington quarterback Taylor Heinicke was shown on video with alcohol after the game. The players placed chains around Heinicke's neck on the plane. The man was holding a beer.

Ron Rivera called the league to let them know of his plans. In the meeting, he addressed it. It's not clear what he did.

McCarthy said that the league was satisfied with the discipline administered by the club. The league won't take any further action.

A source said that the Commanders didn't give the alcohol.

According to the source, the memo stated that League policy prohibits alcoholic beverages, including beer, in the locker rooms, practice or office facilities, or while traveling on team buses or planes at any time during the preseason, regular season, or playoffs. This applies to everyone on your team.

The policy had been in place for a long time.

The statement said that making alcohol available at club facilities or while traveling creates significant and unnecessary risks to the league. Significant discipline will be given to violators of this important policy.

Each club should make sure that its travel arrangements do not include providing alcohol service at any time, and that it takes appropriate steps to confirm that alcohol is not available at its facility.

Washington's young players danced and sang in the locker room after Monday's win. Rivera wants them to behave in a different way after winning.

Rivera said that they had not arrived by any means. It shows that they've never been there before. I'm going to give them a bit of grief for telling you you've been there. I'm aware of it. I want you to act like you've been there because now they're there.

The Commanders' discipline was reported by the National Football League Network.
