Dell no longer sells xbox e gift cards on its websites. We haven't seen all of the demoninations go at the same time. The only way to use the Business Platinum Dell credits is to buy things from Dell.
People applying for the American Express Business Platinum card have been getting a lot of Membership Reward points. We have seen offers for 260,000 points, 160,000 points and offers without the traditional "once-in-a-lifetime" language, meaning that those who have had, or currently do have, a Business Platinum were eligible to get the welcome bonus on another offer.
A lot of people have new Business Platinum cards that come with a yearly fee. Twice-yearly $200 credits on Dell.com is one of the ways that Amex "offset" that fee. The credits need to be used within six months of their renewal.
Many people use these credits to purchase actual Dell products. Many people can find something on Dell.com that they're looking for. If you have multiple Business Platinum cards, Dell will allow you to split payment across up to three cards.
The credits can be used by purchasing eGift cards.
You can get $225 worth of Xbox credit for your $200 Dell credit +$2.50 in cash if you use the GAME10 code shown above.
It's possible to sell them to someone else. If you buy an XBOX card at 80% of face value, you can get $180 in cash for your $225 in XBOX credits, but be careful to check which denominations the reseller is buying before purchasing your eGift cards. Since you have to turn over the cards before you can get any money, it's a pain to say the least, but it's worth it. Purchase rates can vary and can offer poor returns.
XBOX eGift cards can be used to redeem Microsoft store funds. We've heard from a lot of readers who are confused about how to convert Amex Dell credits into more substantial electronic items. Let's see what we can find.
Go into your Dell account and select "My Account" from the menu on the top right corner of the screen.
You can see a list of your recent purchases on your account page. Sometimes, these orders don't go through immediately and will be pending for a while. Some people can't get their orders canceled. I have never had any issues with gift card orders getting canceled, but it can be helpful to spread the gift card orders out if you are having trouble. You will see your eGift card in the orders screen once your order is confirmed.
You will see an order number, but I have removed mine from the screen above. Once the order is available, click on the card that you want to redeem and it will take you to your digital locker where gift cards and software are kept. A lot of people are confused at this point.
The digital locker screen will look like this, except with order numbers and entitlement IDs.
The screen you get when you click on one of the cards is similar to this.
You can get the redemption code by clicking on the Get Key button. The code will be 25 characters in length. This is the code that you will give to the seller. If you want to redeem them for Microsoft credit, you have to go to microsoft.com/redeem. It will take you to the redemption page if you sign-in to your Microsoft account. You will be asked to log-in or create a User ID if you don't. The redemption page will look similar once you do.
If you copy and paste the code on your Dell screen, another screen will ask you to confirm your decision.
You will get confirmation that funds have been loaded when you click "confirm". You can see the total of the two cards that you redeemed and the funds that you added if you repeat the process with a second card.
To check your balance, go to your Microsoft account, select the payment and billing option, and then click on the payment option.
You can see all of your saved payment options on the screen.
You can use the funds for anything you want on the Microsoft store.
If you wait for a 10x bonus from a portal like Topcashback you can use the Dell credits from the Business Platinum. My wife and I used Microsoft credit to buy a Surface laptop that was on-sale for less than $1,000. There were 10% off coupons on Dell.com when we bought the Xbox cards. I received 8,000 Membership Rewards points when I purchased all of the eGift cards during the 10x Rakuten promo. It was a good return for Dell credits.
There are great options that can be had on Dell.com, but at the very least, Microsoft adds some additional selection as well as an increased purchasing power due to the frequent 10% off coupons towards XBOX cards on the site. Dell credits can be used tomaximum value in the toolkit.
