Live Nation Entertainment is under investigation by the Department of Justice. Live Nation and Ticketmaster have come under scrutiny for their dominance in the live event ticket market. After it dropped the ball with Taylor Swift ticket sales, there is renewed attention on the company.

According to the NYT, the DOJ has reached out to venues and players in the ticket market in recent months to inquire about the company's practices. DOJ spokesman Arlen Morales didn't say anything. A request for comment was not immediately responded to.

There are many government officials who are interested in Live Nation. The attorneys general of North Carolina and Tennessee are looking into the matter. The chair of the Senate subcommittee on competition policy, antitrust, and consumer rights wrote a letter to Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino expressing her concerns about competition. Live Nation andTicketmaster should be broken up becauseTicketmaster is a monopoly.

Swift issued a statement about the situation on Friday and she didn't hold back. The explanation for why it crashed during the pre-sale is no longer available.
