On the same day that he won the American League's Most Valuable Player award, Judge was offered a new contract by the Yankees.

Cashman spoke to reporters about the proposal.

He said that they were on the clock. We aren't going to mess around.

Judge was the most valuable player in the American League during the season. He was the first Yankees player to win the award.

Cashman has acknowledged a contract offer before. It's rare for a GM to give information about an offer.

After giving the Yankees a deadline of opening day to work out a new deal, Judge turned down their proposals and played the campaign.

According to Cashman, the Yankees' final offer was $230.5 million over eight years, with a $17 million salary for 2022.

It's disappointing that we can't talk about a contract extension today. Cashman said not now but hopefully later. The sides want to be here. We would love to make that happen because I think Judge doesn't want to be somewhere else.

Judge had one of the best walk years of his life.

The 207 wrc+ was the best by a player in a single season since Barry Bonds' 233 in 2004.

Judge has been linked to the Giants and Dodgers.

If two other big-market teams are involved, Judge's price tag will go up.

Judge has been with the Yankees for a long time. He made his big league debut in August 2016 and was the 32nd pick in the draft. He has been to the All-Star team four times and won the American League's rookies of the year award last year.

In each of Judge's six full seasons, the Yankees have made the playoffs.
