It doesn't seem like she's saying sorry just for show, as she spoke out about the boondoggle that was the ticket sale for her The Eras Tour. She says that she is trying to figure out how this situation can be improved and that she is not going to make excuses.

She doesn't like what people have to go through to get tickets and that's why she doesn't like it. She said that her fans have no idea how much they mean to her.

If you missed it, the millions of people trying to get tickets for the upcoming Taylor Swift concerts put Ticketmaster into a state of meltdown. Fans lucky enough to get a presale code are faced with crashing queue, huge wait times, and systems that wouldn't accept their information. The general sale was canceled because of high demands on ticketing systems and insufficient remaining ticket inventory.

All I can say is that my hope is to give more opportunities for us to all get together and sing these songs.

Swift said she was happy that 2.4 million people got tickets but that many of them felt like they went through several bear attacks to get them. She hopes that people who didn't get tickets will have more chances to attend her concerts in the future.

The company tried to shift blame, saying that the demand for tickets after years without a Taylor Swift concert was completely unpredictable. The explainer that appears to have been pulled from its site was said to be better. The company didn't reply to the request for comment on what happened to its post.

Swift tries to make it clear that she's pretty unhappy with how everything went down, talking about how she's had her team handle "so many elements" of her career instead of outsourcing them, and how it's hard for her to trust an external company with such a large It seems like Swift was aware that it might have been a problem when it arrived. Her statement says that her team asked multiple times if it could handle the traffic and was reassured that it could.

Even though Swift puts a lot of emphasis on her in-house efforts, it seems unlikely that tickets for her next tour will be sold via the internet. It is not likely that many venues would be allowed to make deals with Swift on their own. You can hear more about that on the episode of The Vergecast.

Swift's entire statement is here.

Well. It goes without saying that l’m extremely protective of my fans. We’ve been doing this for decades together and over the years, I’ve brought so many elements of my career in house. I’ve done this SPECIFICALLY to improve the quality of my fans’ experience by doing it myself with my team who care as much about my fans as I do. It’s really difficult for me to trust an outside entity with these relationships and loyalties, and excruciating for me to just watch mistakes happen with no recourse.

There are a multitude of reasons why people had such a hard time trying to get tickets and I’m trying to figure out how this situation can be improved moving forward. I’m not going to make excuses for anyone because we asked them, multiple times, if they could handle this kind of demand and we were assured they could. It’s truly amazing that 2.4 million people got tickets, but it really pisses me off that a lot of them feel like they went through several bear attacks to get them.

And to those who didn’t get tickets, all I can say is that my hope is to provide more opportunities for us to all get together and sing these songs. Thank you for wanting to be there. You have no idea how much that means.
