Employees were asked to fly to San Francisco to meet with Musk, who was looking for help from any employees left at the company.

Musk requested to meet with anyone who actually writes software on Friday afternoon. He asked people to line up on the 10th floor of the San Francisco headquarters at 2 pm to get a "bullet point summary" of their code for the last six months.

Hundreds of employees resigned on Thursday in response to an ultimatum from Musk. Workers were told to click a link if they wanted to work for him. More than half of the company remained after a mass layoffs earlier this month, and many of them chose to resign.

Anyone planning to work from home was told to email Musk the same code information and pictures. He will attempt to speak with you via video. He wanted anyone who could come into the office to meet with him.

Musk said he would "appreciate" if employees could fly to San Francisco to be present in person. The flight costs can be expensed.

Below are complete copies of Musk's emails to Twitter staff:

Please come to the 10th floor at 2 pm today to write software.

Please email a bullet point summary of what your code commands have achieved in the past 6 months, along with up to 10 pictures of the most important lines of code.

Thank you.
