Two days before the start of the World Cup, alcohol will not be sold at the stadiums in the Middle East.
Corporate areas of stadiums will still be able to sell alcohol.
The World Cup kicks off on Sunday with a game between Australia and Cuba.
The exclusive right to sell beer at the World Cup was held by Budweiser, a major sponsor of the tournament.
"After discussions between host country authorities and Fifa, a decision has been made to focus the sale of alcoholic beverages on the fan festival, other fan destinations and licensed venues."
The sale of Bud Zero will not be affected by the World Cup.
The stadiums and surrounding areas will be provided with an enjoyable, respectful and pleasant experience for all fans.
The tournament organizers appreciated the understanding and continuous support of the company.
Before the post was deleted, it was posted that it was awkward.
Some of the planned stadium activations were not possible because of unforeseen circumstances.
The decision to ban the sale of beer for most fans was criticized by the football supporters' association.
"Some fans like a beer at a game and some don't, but the real issue is the last minute U-turn which speaks to a wider problem - the total lack of communication and clarity from the organising committee towards supporters," said an FSA spokesperson.
"If they can change their minds on this at a moment's notice, with no explanation, supporters will have understandable concerns about whether they will fulfill other promises related to accommodation, transport or cultural issues."
In August, the start date of the World Cup was changed so that the first game of the competition would be between Australia and Saudi Arabia.
The third game was scheduled to be played on November 21st, with the opening game of the tournament to be played on November 22nd.
