According to Fuji News Network, Yuji Naka, the co- creator of Sonic the Hedgehog, has been arrested in Japan in connection with an inside trading case.
The Dragon Quest Tact mobile game was being created by Square Enix and Aiming and was the subject of a scandal. The two ex-Square employees, Sazaki and Fumiaki Suzuki, purchased 162,000 shares in Aiming before the project's public announcement on February 5, 2020.
The Aiming deal was known to Naka and he bought 10,000 shares before the public announcement. The Balan Wonderworld game was developed by Naka. Three men have been arrested.
Square Enix said in an official statement that they had cooperated with requests from the SEC. This has caused a lot of concern and we are very sorry. We haveDisciplinary actions taken against the suspected employees.
