One of the first things Musk did after purchasing the company was to change the way remote work was done.

The class action suit was filed in a San Francisco federal court on Wednesday by a man who said that he couldn't work because of his disability. He claimed that the company had violated the Americans with Disabilities Act and the California Fair Housing and Employment Act after he was promised that he could continue working from home.

The company's staff has been cut in half since Musk's purchase. Employees who have stayed on have said they work over 80 hours a week. Musk wants workers to be very hardcore.

A request for comment was not responded to by the company. Musk did not reply immediately.

Employees were promised that they would be able to work from home for at least a year after Musk's acquisition of the company. Managers, the CEO, and other staff promised employees this.

He claimed that he was wrongly terminated after Musk purchased the social media site.

"If people do not return to the office when they are able to return to the office, they cannot remain at the company," Musk said during a November 10 meeting. According to The Washington Post, Musk said that employees could still get approval from their managers to work from home if they did exceptional work.

He said that he'd been working from home since June. On November 10, he wrote to his manager asking for help.

"In case I didn't mention it before, as a cancer survivor I'm at extra risk from Covid, so I'm definitely not working from the office until the pandemic is over," he wrote.

The suit claimed that he was not given any information on how to request an exception. He said he received a chilling email after Musk's request.
