Soon, you will have the chance to own a piece of baseball history.

According to Jeff Passan, youmans is going to take Judge's home run ball to auction.

Youmans told Passan he wouldn't accept the offer.

He said that it seems fair that anyone with the means can own it. I'm curious to see who buys it and what they do with it.

It looked like Judge would pass Roger Maris after hitting his 60th home run. He didn't get his 61st until eight days after the regular season ended.

The lucky fan who caught the ball at the Texas Rangers' Globe Life Field was going to make a lot of money.

Judge said he wouldn't demand that Youmans give up the ball.

He told reporters that they would see what happened with that. It would be nice to get it back, but it's a souvenir for a fan. They made a great catch.

It's almost certain that Youmans will make seven-figures.

Passan was told by Dave Baron, Youmans' lawyer, that the final price could be much higher than the $3 million offer because of the Yankees' popularity.

Mark McGwire's 70th home run ball sold for $3 million in 1999, but its value has plummeted over the years. The record for the most expensive baseball to change hands is still held by that.
