Maingear has built custom gaming PCs in New Jersey for the past two decades, landing splashy partnerships to generate intriguing new systems. One of the world's biggest streamers is teaming up with it.

The company is revealing a new desktop born out of the Shroud partnership as well as a new company logo and the first full 3D product configurator. If you spin around a 3D model, they'll be able to charge your credit card for a pre built gaming rig.

We will see, but we are getting celebrity creative directors here.

Maingear says that shroud is now a co-owner of the company.

Maingear refused to answer questions about Shroud's financial stake in the company, including whether he invested any of his own money at all. Reed insists that Shroud's name isn't just a sponsorship contract or a licensing agreement. Reed says that he is a member of the gaming advisory board.

According to a press release, roud's experience allows him to provide key insight on strategic and business considerations such as component selection, marketing initiatives, community building, and retail and ecommerce experiences.

He worked on Maingear's new PC.

Reed said he ordered several Maingear PCs himself after Deadmau5 recommended the brand. The new system that is being announced today is the Maingear MG-1.

There isn't anything revolutionary about the MG-1. A decent case and competent labor are what a boutique builder will usually give you. One of the most demanding PC reviewers on the internet called the Maingear Vybe one of the rare prebuilts that meets his standards, but was a little disappointed with its case.

The system looks sleek if you pay extra for the magnetic hot swappable light-up front panels. It will be popular among streamers who see themselves as the next shroud. They are attached with four magnets so there is no need to plug them in. Reed told me that Maingear wouldn't sell the whole case separately.

Maingear has a new 280mm AIO liquid cooler that can be configured for an extra$15. I don't mind the new logo because I'm allergic to brands. It is designed to bridge the generations of gaming, modern and retro, and be different to everyone that looks at it.

Maingear’s new logo is made of square pixels on a 5 x 5 grid in the shape of an M atop two dots. I can see a skull, an alien, or just a big letter M, if I think about it.

I like that it looks like a Space Invader. I will probably continue to build my own PCs since I enjoy them.

Since it is a fully custom PC, prices will vary depending on the components, but it starts at $1,449 for prebuilt or $1,699 for a choose-your-own adventure PC. It can be configured with either the i9-13900K or the Ryzen 9 7950X, both of which have up to 64 gigabytes of memory. The case is 19 inches tall and 17 inches long.

I spin around a rendered version of the case in 3D, like a video game, with all its components and cables inside.

Today is the day that the MG-1 should be on sale. As part of a sponsorship, Shroud put his name on other Logitech peripherals.
