Only a few routes will see the return of the full ice cream sundae service.

“Signature” Ice Cream Sundae Service Returns to United Airlines Polaris Business Class…On Four Routes To Start

The full ice cream sundae service will be reintroduced on the following routes.

  • Brisbane (BNE)
  • Frankfurt (FRA)
  • Singapore (SIN)
  • Sydney (SYD)

The return of ice cream sundae service is based on feedback from both passengers and flight attendants, according to a memo to flight attendants.

Based on customer and flight attendant feedback, we’re revamping the Polaris dessert service and are bringing back a new three-tier dessert cart for our signature ice cream sundae service. Cheese plates with fruit and tarts will be included as additional dessert options offered.

Polaris used to have a three tier dessert cart.

A pre-dressed ice cream dish is offered by United in Polaris business class.

While I understand that United wants to make sure the return to a full-service dessert cart runs smoothly, I hope other longhaul routes don't have to wait too long.

CONCLUSION

Even if only on four routes, United is restoring its full ice cream service. There is always something special about an ice cream sundae on a plane, even though it is not common in the world. The full ice cream sundae service was brought back by American Airlines and Delta Air Lines months ago. Hot towel service will be reintroduced on December 1st.

There are positive meal service changes being introduced by United.
