  • According to Glen Powell, Tom Cruise organized his first skydiving experience.

  • He said on "The Tonight Show" that he almost lost his life when he couldn't locate his parachute tab.

  • Powell thought that Cruise would feel bad if he pushed him to jump.

During a skydiving experience, Glen Powell thought about Tom Cruise.

"Top Gun: Maverick," starring Powell and Cruise, was a hit at the box office.

After being persuaded by Cruise, Powell went skydiving for the first time. Powell was offered the use of Cruise's skydiving team to take part in the reshoots for the "Top Gun" sequel in the UK.

Powell said it was his second date with the woman. Tom's only request was that Glen couldn't go skydiving with someone else. He has to do it alone. I have to leave the plane on my own.

Powell said that he almost lost his life when he couldn't find the tab to open his parachute.

The actor said that he couldn't locate his tab when he fell. Everybody talks about it. My first thought was, 'Tom just killed me.' He's going to be really sad.

He pushed me to do it. I'm trying to find the tab and I'm like, "You're not Tom Cruise." Tom Cruise won't be you. Why did you do something like this? Finally, I pulled it. I came in hot. Went up and did it again.

Powell appeared on "The Tonight Show" to promote his upcoming film "Devotion."

Powell told The Hollywood Reporter that Cruise convinced him to do both movies after he was offered the part for the "Top Gun" sequel.

Powell said he had a naval aviation movie that was close to his heart. There's room for two. You can do a lot of things. You don't have to make a decision.

"Tom gave me the liberty to make both, Black Label and Sony gave me the liberty to make both, I feel like these are two movies that could not be more different from each other, but really complement just the love of aviation," he said.

The movie is in theaters on November 23.
