The sale of games will be suspended and guidance will be given to Chinese players in the coming days according to the press release. NetEase said in a statement that there is a separate agreement for the development of the game. Dragonflight and the second season of Overwatch 2 will be released later this year.
NetEase is the second largest gaming company in China. The partnership makes sure that the games meet China's strict rules. NetEase is the owner of the dragon team in the league. In August, the two companies couldn't agree on terms of a deal, which led to the cancellation of a mobile game.
The intellectual property and player data were at the center of the dispute, according to anonymous sources.
