The January 6 committee spoke out against comments by the former Vice President about not giving testimony.
The chair and vice chair of the Select Committee said that it was disappointing that the Vice President was misrepresenting the nature of the investigation.
In an interview with CBS News, he said he was closing the door on testifying.
"From the time that January 6 was formed, and every member was appointed by the Democrat speaker of the House, I was worried," he said.

Thompson and Cheney pointed out that more than 50 Republican witnesses have been questioned. The bipartisan commission was blocked by Kevin McCarthy after Nancy Pelosi rejected two of his picks.
The committee praised the former Vice President's refusal to bow to former President Trump's pressure to not count electoral votes. His statements about the Select Committee are not correct.
In a CNN Town Hall on Wednesday night, the former vice president said it was the hardest day of his career.

During the Wednesday night appearance, Pence dodged questions about whether or not he would run for president in 2024, but told CNN's Jake Tapper that the Republican Party would have better options than his former boss.
The two eventually went their separate ways because of Trump's return to old rhetoric around the 2020 election.
He said that he still prays for the president and the people who were responsible for the tragedy.
