Amazon has room for a Steve Aoki concert even though it will be laying off employees. The DJ performed a live concert for a group of Amazon warehouse employees, and the whole thing was streamed on the AmazonVest Life channel.
Karen Weise of the New York Times was the one who gave us the information. The concert wasn't a secret as the "amazonvestlife" social media account posted a story featuring Aoki to promote the show earlier in the day. The DJ gave a shout out to the people of Amazon.
WeWork hosted an in-office concert with Run-DMC a few weeks after CEO Adam Neumann fired 7 percent of the staff.
A request for comment was not replied to by Amazon.
The devices and services organization at Amazon was affected by the cuts announced by the company's VP of Devices and Services. Some employees in the company's HR division have been offered a chance to leave. According to the New York Times, Amazon will lay off thousands of employees.
