Even though they're struggling to move a stock trading ban bill on their own, Senate Democratic leaders don't want to take financial responsibility advice from Donald Trump.

Trump wants a ban on members of Congress getting rich by trading stocks on inside information.

"I'm so impressed that Donald Trump is giving us an ethical standard to live by," Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin said after being asked what he thought about the former president's proposal.

The January 6, 2021, siege at the US Capitol is one of the legal problems that Trump is currently under investigation for.

He was qualified to comment on the unfinished business of the Senate.

He used the plug to stoke bipartisanship on Capitol Hill.

"I'm happy to hear that Trump supports a ban on congressional stock trading," he wrote. I encourage my Republicans to join this effort.

The stock-ban bill was introduced in September but was delayed until after the election. The stock-ban legislation that a Democratic working group has been working on all year is expected to be brought up in the Senate.

In regards to scheduling an actual floor vote, he didn't hear anything that was current.
