Disney Cruise Line will soon own one of the world's largest cruise ships, in a move that could be used to break into the fast-growing Asian travel market.
Disney announced late Wednesday that it was buying a massive, half-finished ship that was under construction for Dream Cruises.
Dream Cruises collapsed along with sister brands Star Cruises and Crystal Cruises and the construction of the Global Dream was halted.

The three cruise lines were owned by an Asian company.
Disney said it would work with Meyer Werft to complete the vessel, which was designed to appeal to Asian families.
The line said in a press release that the ship would bring Disney's style of cruises to new global destinations.
The vessel will be based outside of the US.

Disney said it would work with Meyer Werft to add Disney themed features to the ship. The Disney Cruise Line will have "innovative Disney experiences along with the dazzling entertainment, world-class dining and legendary guest service that set Disney Cruise Line apart."
The Mickey Mouse-inspired colors of the fleet will be adorned on the exterior of the ship.
