According to Dennis Allen, the New Orleans Saints are sticking with their quarterback.
We're going to take Andy with us. As a staff, we talked about it. Allen said that he feels like Andy is the direction that the team wants to go.
Allen said earlier in the week that the offense might not be safe after it averaged under 215 passing yards and 11 points.
He said on Monday that Jameis could be a candidate to start for the Rams, but that he hadn't made a decision yet.
Allen said that there's a chance that Winston won't be back at full strength before the season ends. Left tackle James Hurst and guard Andrus Peat are both in the concussion protocol and have been placed on the injured reserve list.
The decision this week may have been influenced by all of those things.
Allen said a lot of the factors just went into how we're playing and how we're operating. It's not good enough, but there's a lot of elements in this team that have to improve, and there's a lot of other areas that we have to work on. There's a lot of positions that need to play better, and that's where we're at right now.
