It is getting closer to reality that Delta will offer free wi-fi on all flights.
SkyMiles members can now get free internet access on certain aircraft. You can get complimentary internet access by entering your SkyMiles number and password on the landing page at Delta wifi.com.
Signing in will allow you to connect to the internet without having to pay a monthly pass. All of your favorite content can be enjoyed on the free wi-fi package.
This is part of the testing of Delta's new system. We are testing wi-fi infrastructure with different offerings to select customers on certain routes. Delta will notify customers if they have this option on their flight.
The trial is limited to a few aircraft that are equipped with Viasat, which is expected to be installed on a majority of Delta's mainline fleet by the end of the year.
Viasat is installed on a lot of new and retrofitted planes.
Even if you're not a SkyMiles member, you can still get free internet access. Just sign up from the landing page and you will be connected to the internet in minutes. If you don't want to join Delta's loyalty program, you can connect to the system for a flat fee.
Just weeks after Delta began giving free internet to its elite members on Viasat-equipped planes, SkyMiles members will be able to take advantage of the free wi-fi trial.
The trial was a success, and now Delta is going to give more flyers free internet access.
